Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The five- and six-year-olds in my class are full of curiosity and energy. Kindergarten is a year full of discovery, but my students are learning how to navigate school while navigating a second language and they need the right tools to give them that extra push.
Despite their limited school experience and young age, it is important to get my students excited about science now.
My students come to school ready to internalize every new bit of information they can, but it is important for them to be excited about their learning in order for them to retain more of it!
My Project
My kindergarten students have a lot to say! Throughout the year, they learn to communicate ideas on paper through illustrations, dictation, and finally their own writing. This means we need a lot of materials to get through the year!
Although parents do their best to send in supplies, my students are still learning about responsibility and taking care of their supplies, so they often have to be replenished.
The pencil boxes would keep pencils, erasers, crayons, and glue safe so we are not constantly misplacing supplies. The paper and pencils should be enough to last the entire school year.
