it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Middle school is such an unbearably hard time for so many. My goal in teaching middle school is to make it a little less difficult while giving my students the resources they need to succeed. I teach at a Title I school, which means that the majority of our students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch.
When home life is turbulent, I want my classroom to be a place where students are able to relax and feel at home.
I am so excited to be returning to Cochran MS next year! This year will be better than ever and I am so excited for all the amazing things my students will accomplish this year. As I teach in a high needs area, I would like to alleviate the majority of the burden of "school supply" shopping as possible. This year, my students will be making interactive notebooks in both English and History (the composition books), and will be keeping a small bag (pencil pouches) in the classroom with the supplies that are needed for that (the glue, scissors, and writing utensils). The paper cutter will allow me to precut the notes so that we can make sure we spend more class time on learning and less on assembly. I've also included some wipes so we can keep our classroom clean, as well as laminating pouches so I can reuse items or they can last for the entire school year without needing to be recreated.
