This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a low income/high poverty title one school in east Charlotte. They come in with a variety of pasts and different home lives, but they do their very best to meet their potential each and every day. My students are intelligent and determined! They tend to look at life with a different perspective - an inspiring one. We want to make sure that all needs are met so that when at school, their main focus is growing in academics and character, as well as meeting their goals!

My Project

I chose to ask for supplies that are needed most throughout the school year, but tend to dwindle quickly. Students work best in small groups when they're focused, which is the purpose of the headphones. The other supplies listed, like tissues and paper towels, were necessities for a classroom full of messy, wonderful students!

Our schools have had to cut funding on paper and ink, meaning our students aren't receiving the amount of paper/pencil practice needed to prepare for End of Year testing.

The copy paper and ink will allow students to continue learning, both on paper and with technology.
