This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our Kindergarten students are wonderful and caring children with a bright educational future ahead of them. I want to provide my new students with the right start they need and deserve when they begin their educational careers. My goal is to make their first school experience a tremendous one.
Our students are motivated to learn, play, and achieve success!
Our school has made tremendous gains over the past 12 years, moving from one of the lowest-performing schools in the area to achieving the honor of being named a Distinguished School! We are an example of a community of students, teachers, parents, and staff, all working together for academic achievement. Our hope is that many of our students will be the first generation in their family to go to college!
My Project
My students need these materials to help them start the year off right. In our community, many students cannot afford to buy these essentials.
Please help me provide my students with beginning of the year classroom supplies that they will use daily.
At the beginning of the year, I try to provide my students with a notebook to collect their math and their science for the year. It gives them a way to organize their work in one place and see their progression throughout the year. The folders will be used for what I call, "Finished Folders". Inside, I provide students with activities that meet their needs and interests. When students finish their work, they can take out their "Finished Folder" and continue working. This works as a motivation tool for students to stay on task. The pencil boxes are going to be for each student to keep and organize their pencils, scissors, glue, erasers, etc. Students need a place to keep their things otherwise their desks are chaos and they can't find things that they need. My students are going to be so excited to have all of these materials to use throughout the year.
