I have yet to meet my students, but boy am I anticipating it! This will be my first year teaching to Kindergarten Gifted & Talented students. I am sure my students will be bright, creative, artistic, and fun-loving. Kindergartners are truly special because it is their first formal year in school. Their minds are like sponges ready to soak up the world around them. I look forward to being able to guide them to their full potential as I watch them grow and learn.
My Project
These materials are all geared to ensure my students have a wonderful first year in our school. The story paper chart paper will be used during writing workshop as well as interactive writing. The colored chart paper will be used to make different anchor charts or reminders in our room. Having requested Kinetic Sand in my last DonorsChoose.org project, I wanted to order more with a variety of tools and colors to maximize this material during choice time. The command strips were also something I ordered in my last project. But sure enough I used them all up during room set up, so now I need more! Magnetic strips will be used to hang papers up that do not already have a magnetic backing. The binder sheets will be used to ensure organization this year! The other art supplies will be used in various art projects throughout our year!
All of the projects will come together to make this year a year full of possibilities!
In my previous project I received skin tone colored pencils, now the crayons can also be shared to create an All About Me project.
The Brain Quest products are meant to further my students learning in new, creative ways. When I was a child I actually used Brain Quest. It was the fun, silly way to question the world around.
I look forward to providing my students with these new resources for a creative, imagination filled year of learning!
