Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are highly motivated high school teenagers who come form diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. I teach different levels of students and unfortunately math sometimes comes off as an abstract subject that most students cannot relate to.

We work together to bring math to life using different methods to help every student connect with what we are learning.

I use projects, presentations, write ups, etc to help my students understand that math happens in everyday life and everyone is capable of understanding some level of math.

My Project

I am a high school math teacher who teaches different math classes. Some of my students are highly motivated whilst others need a lot of encouragement to study.

Math seems to be a problem for some of my students because they see it as abstract and not important to everyday living.

I pencils, erasers, borders, and other materials to provide lessons filled with activities which will help my students understand that they need math for every life activity.

We will use these materials for projects, posters, and class work. Some of them will also be used for making my classroom beautiful for my students to feel comfortable during lessons.
