My students need pencils and erasers, Scholastic News Magazines, headphones, and toner.

My Students

My students attend a public elementary school in Illinois where 100% of our students come from low income households. All my students are excited about learning, from the moment they walk in the door, until the moment they put their homework in their backpack in the afternoon. We take advantage of many different learning styles throughout the day to keep all students engaged.

My class of 25 students has a broad range in learning level and preferences, so students are always working at their own individual level.

My Project

I am so excited to meet my new class of shining new second grade faces! As a veteran teacher, I finally know how to make sure we are prepared to learn on day one.

I want my students to walk in on the first day of school and see the materials they need waiting there for them.

Pencils, erasers and student headphones will help the students get off to a great start and assure that we can begin learning on day one. Students use headphones to work in listening centers and on classroom laptops.

Scholastic Magazines provide my students with enjoyable and informative nonfiction articles throughout the school year. The students enjoy reading them, and love taking them home to read to share with their families as well.

And who can forget printer toner? Without toner, I cannot print important newsletters for parents or daily student work.
