This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

To make the first week engaging, I am planning to teach students the importance of handwashing. Students will see that through contact, germs can easily be transferred, which is why handwashing is so important. Students will be able to see how germs transfer with the use of a black light that illuminates the harmless lotion, which represents germs.

We are currently in need of basic science supplies to start the year off right, such as scissors, pencils, erasers, rulers, magnetic holders to hold supplies and keep them accessible, and white boards for engaging activities and reviews.

I would also like to use snacks as a way to motivate students in the first week so that they have a strong start for the school year.

It is always important to start off the school year on a good note.
