My Students

My fellow students are the reason why I began teaching in the first place. Although it only feels like yesterday, about 7 years ago, I began my first teaching assistant position as a junior at a busy school. Assisting in a special education classroom taught me the importance of giving, rather than taking. Since then, I haven't looked back in this profession.

Only six months ago I got the call to begin a long-term substitute position.

I was able to join a school that immediately impressed me with its unity and community-based teaching. My students had left me in awe with their ability to accept me and show me the way of this new community. They truly eased my first introduction into taking on a responsibility of a whole class, which was prefixed with many long, anxious nights. For that, I will always owe my students something.

They are pre-teens and teens who enjoy being accepted, sharing interesting stories, and trying there best to figure out who they are. Many students shine with traits of creativity, strength, and perseverance. They motivate me to be a better me.

My Project

The materials I am requesting would benefit my class as a whole. Providing these materials to my classroom would allow the students to have guaranteed supplies, even if they worry they can't afford them. Being able to give them this peace of mind is what I strive to achieve, and I humbly ask for the help of others throughout this process.

The Google Cardboard VR Headsets will allow the students to experience a more realistic view of locations and scientific methods.

Colored pencils and markers are essential for demonstrating creativity in the classroom when completing projects.

The Physics circuit and electricity labs will both be implemented along with lab work to show the students first-hand how physics works in these facets.

The LED lights provide the students with comfort in the classroom.

The pencils, black pens, and blue pens will be made available to the students who don't have the materials for their day. Giving them access to these will be the foundation for completing all schoolwork throughout the year.

The 100 pack will be used to incentivize the students with positive reinforcement when attending classes.

Construction paper and composition books will give them the canvas to taking notes and completing a journal.

The Ph test kits will be incorporated in a lab that will test water in a recycled ecosystem.
