As a teacher, in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges, both in and out of the classroom.
My students are an amazing group of 3rd graders that are eager to learn and explore.
They are living a growth-mindset philosophy, embracing the new learning experiences and challenges, and are ready to stretch and grow their brain muscle. Children are like sponges, ready to soak up everything. It is my pleasure and duty to help shape their precious minds to love learning and be successful.
My Project
As we prepare for the 2018-2019 school year, I want to help students prepare their minds for all the leaning that is ahead. Having the proper mindset is half the battle. With the use of colored pens and printer ink, students will be able to create, color, and print encouraging slogans to remind them of alternative ways of thinking.
Students will learn to believe in their potential, talent, and intelligence.
The positive read aloud will provide students will relatable stories of success and possibility. Teaching students to change their speaking language of "I can't", to "I can", or "It's too hard" to "I'll keep trying".
