This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is composed of 55 fifth graders in a general education class, with students who have IEPs and ELL learners and special education students.
A typical day in my classroom looks active.
My students are engaged in learning activities that get them moving, talking to their peers, and asking great questions. My students are learning through hands-on experiences. I teach in a Title I school. My fifth-grade students come from very diverse families. I am excited to share that my school is a genuinely diverse community. Not only do students come from varying ethnic backgrounds and places, but the life experiences that they’ve had are incredibly unique. My scholars are creative, thoughtful, and full of excitement! My students are 9 and 10-year children that love coming to school. With your help, I will be able to provide the resources they desperately need to succeed.
My Project
This new school year will still look a lot different from any school year a child has seen. My students are all coming back to school. I shudder at the thought of how organized they will be after over a year of working remotely. Their mindset and work habits have to once again shift. With Covid-19, our students still have to go back to school and change their way of learning from remote to in-person.
All of these materials would make a huge difference in our classroom.
We need pencils, Kleenex, and stickers, pens, pencil pouch, binder and a few decorations to help decorate our outdated classroom. My project contains items to help my ESL students in this upcoming school year. These include tissues for runny noses, materials to keep their daily writing prompts neat and tidy, pens, pencils and stickers to help them note important things, and pencil cases to keep it all neat and together.
We are going back full 5 days of live instruction this year after being out with the pandemic, or going back hybrid.
I know my students will need supplies to keep at school so they have what they need to succeed!
