This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Flexible seating options like stools provide students with a comfortable and engaging environment that promotes focus and movement. By having the choice to move and wiggle while they work, students can stay more attentive during math lessons and feel more ownership over their learning space.
Healthy Snack Bars:
Nutritious snacks help keep students energized and ready to learn. Providing healthy snack bars ensures that all students have the fuel they need to stay engaged and alert, especially during those long math blocks when they need to stay focused.
Number Match-Ups:
These hands-on number match-ups will allow students to visually and physically connect numbers and operations, deepening their understanding of place value, addition, and subtraction. Using manipulatives to see how numbers relate builds a strong foundation for future math concepts.
Tower of Math Games:
This tower of math games will make practicing math facts fun and interactive! Games focused on addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division help students build fluency through play. These games reinforce math skills while also encouraging collaboration and communication between students.
Books that Support STEM Students of Color:
The carefully selected STEM-themed books highlight diverse voices and role models in math and science. By seeing themselves reflected in these stories, students of color can develop a stronger sense of belonging and possibility in STEM fields. These books will also spark curiosity and help students make real-world connections to math.
