Starting off Right!

My students need this cubby shelf and beginning of the year supplies (bins, chart, frames) to start the new school year after Hurricane Harvey off correctly.

My Students

60% of the students in my class lost their homes and belongings in Hurricane Harvey. In addition, they lost their classroom too. We began school a month later than planned at a local church in town.

My students are brave and adaptable.

These are just a few words I could use to describe them. They have embraced this year and have made the best out of the traumatic time in their short little lives. I cannot say enough good things about this sweet little class.

My Project

Our school flooded in Hurricane Harvey in August of 2017 just days after meet the teacher night at our school. I cannot imagine how the students that saw our perfect classroom feel. They walked in a beautiful classroom to meet their teacher one evening and then began their first year of school a month later at a local church in town in a Sunday school room.

I want to start the new school year off correctly and prepared!

This storage shelf with clear bins would allow students to sort and store their supplies and then be able to have a clear view and access the supplies easily. The attendance center will allow me to use pictures for non-readers or non-verbal students. The name plates, , art work frames, and letter flashcards will all add to the welcoming affect I want in our new classroom I dream of creating once we are back at our campus. Kindergarten students need to see their work displayed and their name labeled on everything that belongs to them in the room. The name plates and art work frames will help me do that.

Our school was stripped down to the studs, so my students will need all these supplies and shelf to not only begin the year , but stock our new classroom.
