When working with students that require a systemic way of learning, it is essential to their success that their materials and classroom environment are organized and accessible. In order to create a learning environment that is organized and easily accessible to both staff and students, I need simple office supplies, such as file folders, post-its, and dividers, to set up efficient systems. It seems silly that these basic office items that teachers need to do their jobs are not readily available!
A multidisciplinary team approach is essential when working with students with diverse needs in the school environment.
It takes constant collaboration between multiple providers inside and outside of the classroom. It is my job as a teacher to ensure that there is efficient and constant collaboration between myself and parents, related service providers, medical professionals, therapist, and other school staff. Working with a multidisciplinary team will allow me to provide a comprehensive and individualized education for my students. The office supplies listed will not only be used to create an organized and accessible learning environment, but will also be used to promote efficient and effective collaboration between various providers, while keeping students' information confidential.
