My Project

Help me set up my first-ever classroom!

Being a brand new teacher, new to the profession, new to the school and new to my students, I am starting out in the middle of the year with little to no materials of my own.

I have a classroom that has basic items such as desks and random things I could compile together, so the need for basic items is big.

Having whiteboard markers, pencils, décor, planning books, notebooks, batteries, index cards, and storage is going to be a giant help to get me started in my brand-new classroom.

Having whiteboard markers will allow for students to work in small groups during the application process of math. Having pencils, notebooks, and index cards will give the students opportunities to be actively engaged in note-taking, strategy, and skill planning and the storage will help them keep their note-taking items organized and easily accessible.

Having an electronic writing tablet will allow me to demonstrate how to demonstrate how to work through and solve problems on the front board while being amongst my students and providing proximity and support. I often find myself tied to the smart board, with my back to my students as we work through math problems. Having this writing pad will allow for me to write and demonstrate solving problems while being around the room supporting through proximity.
