Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first grade ENL classroom is a place where students are allowed to take chances and explore who they are, while learning the English language. They get excited to learn English and take pride in their efforts to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
My first graders will begin 2018 with everything they need, thanks to this project being funded. With your help, my students will have charts hanging all over the classroom after research, reading, discussion and accountable talk about first grade topics. Students will always have sharpened pencils and corrections thanks to the teacher editing and conferencing with colorful pens. They will use glue sticks to create and engage through art.
My first grade ENL students love to write, read and explore the world.
