Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students I work with attend a title one middle school. Each student has a unique personality and enjoy learning. I work with a large population of Hispanic students who are learning English and students with disabilities. All the students rise to any challenge given to them even if they lack the supplies to do so.
Each student I work with are sponges who soak up all the knowledge given to them.
They are consistently questioning why and how. The English Language Learning students always speak to me in English because they want to improve and assimilate with their peers.
My Project
The donations will be utilized for the students who cannot afford the supplies for school. Currently working in a title one school makes it difficult for my students to afford supplies. It is difficult to find supplies that are inexpensive and durable.
Remember the first day when going to school meant all new supplies?
The feeling we all get, as if we can start new and be better then we were yesterday. I want each student to feel this way. When they walk in to class I want my students to not worry about what they will write on or with. My students need notebooks, pencils, tape. rulers, color paper, and crayons.
