Starting a New School Year with Classroom Supplies

My students need packets of paper, two boxes of black and blue pens, pencils and construction paper when creating art work.

My Students

Having school supplies can help ease the shame for many students. Many parents have shared with me the reason why their children are not coming to school the first few days. The replies are always the same, they don't have the school supplies.

My is school is located in an urban city on the East Coast.

The school is in a low improvised school district and very high need. The parents are proud and expect the best for their children. The students are very eager to learn and achieve greatness in their studies.

My Project

If these students are fortunate to receive the school supplies, this will impact their lives in a major way. The pencils and pens will make them feel empowered to explore their thoughts. No longer will they feel like they are less then someone else because of the lack of notebooks, markers, and paper for publishing writing pieces. The pencil sharpener, construction paper, markers, pencils, and pens will give them hope and motivation to come to school without the worry of not having what they need to do well in school.

It makes my heart very heavy when I hear parents explaining why their children don't have school supplies.

I've supported the parents by purchasing paper, pens, pencils, crayons, and markers but I can't do this alone. All students deserve to have supplies it order to receive equal opportunity to progress.
