This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a low income community. Over 90% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch. They are enthusiastic and eager to learn and explore. The projects will help provide different opportunities and experiences for the low income students.
My Project
The pandemic has changed life completely. We are just starting to see the effects that the pandemic has had on our society and communities. Our school community has about 90% of students that come from homes that are eligible for free or reduced lunch.This project, of starting a community garden, will provide students an opportunity to complete community service hours and also provide access to free fresh produce.
The items in the project are all tools that will helps us get started in establishing a community garden.
The gardening gloves, gardening beds, watering cans, and seeds will all help us get started in helping our community during this time.
