My Project
This school year, my students will be engaging in hands-on, individualized learning that supports both their academic growth and social-emotional development. Many of my students thrive when given access to visual tools and sensory-friendly materials, which help keep them engaged and reduce frustration during tasks. Basic supplies like dry erase boards and markers allow for repeated practice without waste, while pencils and disinfecting spray ensure that shared tools remain clean, safe, and ready for learning. These simple items help meet sensory preferences and hygiene needs, allowing each student to focus more fully on the work in front of them.
The goal of this project is to create a calm, structured, and supportive environment where my students can build confidence in their abilities.
With these materials, I can offer clear routines, quick feedback, and safe collaboration opportunities. I also hope to integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) resources, such as breathing pals and calm strips that help students understand emotions, practice self-regulation, and build meaningful relationships with peers. These tools not only support daily academic tasks but also help lay the foundation for independence, resilience, and communication skills my students will use far beyond the classroom.
What makes my students special is the unique way each of them experiences and interacts with the world. They are creative, curious, and full of potential, especially when given the right supports to meet their diverse needs. Many of them face challenges with communication, sensory processing, and emotional regulation, but with patience, consistency, and the right tools, they show incredible growth. They deserve a learning space that values their differences and equips them for success. These supplies may seem small, but to my students, they represent opportunity, safety, and the chance to shine in their own way.
