My students need exciting texts and a place to curl up as well as fun games such as Boggle to enhance their learning.

My Students
The students at our school are a wonderful, diverse group of children that love to read! Our students come from a variety of cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds. Our school community represents more than 30 countries. We are a community of engaged learners, who are focusing this year on growing our love of reading!
"Learning to Serve, Serving to Learn" is our school motto.
Our students are engaged in lessons focused on giving back to the community and creating an inclusive environment.
My Project
With this project, my students will be able to access high-interest texts in both fiction and non-fiction. My students that are looking for hands-on literacy activities will love the games. Students love to be actively involved with their learning, so the Hot Dot sets are a real blast. The students are able to play independently and as a team. I am a firm believer in engaged learning and this involves my students being able to use Play-Doh to create characters, practice building words and have fun! I also included the game Boggle, where students use their reading skills to identify as many words as possible. All of these interactive activities allow my students to learn in a fun way and develop their character by working with others.
As a reading teacher, I know the importance of creating an inviting, comfortable place for my students to help engage their minds and create a love for reading.
By adding these bean bags to my classroom, they will provide a great place to fall in love with a new text. I believe providing students with rich text at all levels is so important. The books selected range in genre and level.
I love to watch a child giggle, smile or gasp while reading. It is such a joy to watch their confidence grow in all subjects through their love of reading.
I am so excited for this new school year!! Thank you so much for taking the time to read about this project.
