Ms. Dropkin from Baltimore MD is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 4 printers and ink cartridges for them to help them create final drafts of their work in all subjects and to increase their familiarity with technology.

How many times a day do you interact with technology--computers, printers, scanners, cellphones? For many of our students, that number is startlingly small, especially considering the world they'll work in as adults.
Our school is a turn-around middle school in an inner-city in Maryland.
Our history of academic achievement is weak, but we're fighting to improve it with all the effort and resources we can. Students come to us from severely low-income families, often well below grade level. But like children in any school in the country, they're fascinated by technology and the ways it allows them to interact with their peers. As their teachers, we're hoping to harness that interest to increase students' investment in their educations.
This project will purchase 4 printers for the subject area classrooms on our team of teachers -- language arts, math, science and social studies. In each classroom, students will be able to not only type but print and distribute copies of their final drafts of papers, proofs or lab reports. Having printers in the classrooms will also allow teachers to distribute news articles and other computer-based documents to bridge the gap for students between what they see on the internet and what supports their learning in the classroom. Ultimately, having greater access to technology prepares students to one day work in environments where technological literacy will be critical to success.
Not only do our students have limited resources at home, we also have limited resources as an inner-city public school.
With your help, we'll be able to provide these at-risk children with technology that can help to engage them in learning and propel them forward.
