This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There are a number of projects that I can and plan to do with these iPads. I would like to have the students do research about artists and art movements. I would also like the students to create stop-motion films using clay and an original story they create. There are a number of great apps to help students with making stop motion animation. As well as, the traditional take pictures and then upload them into a movie making program. This project will be allowing the students to tell their stories or express their creativity, while empowering the students through art. The class will be broken up into groups so that they can work as a team and develop their collaborative skills. The students will then write their story and create their characters out of clay. After that point they must work as a team to slowly move their characters, while taking a picture each time. The pictures will then be edited to create a movie.

This project is good for all the students but especially for my English language learners.

Art and technology have a way of bypassing normal language skills to allow communication. By using the technology to create stop motion movie animation, students of all backgrounds, learning styles, abilities, and native languages will be able to tell the world their story and be understood. Please help give the students the tools to be understood by starting the motion for stop motion animation.
