Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I school. We receive federal funds to provide extra help for all of our students. My classes can range from 19-24 children. These numbers will change with each new incoming class.

I try very hard to maintain a positive atmosphere in my classroom though there are many obstacles that make it difficult.

Home life for some of these children is not a positive one. I try very hard to form positive relationships with my students. Poverty is also an issue in the area.

My students are sweet, caring children that want to learn everything and anything they can. I couldn't ask for a better class.

My Project

Many students are unable to bring these essential items to school due to limited financial resources. Every year I purchase these items as we run out. The school does provide some assistance, but these also run out quickly since its shared with the entire school. These schools supplies will be put in bags for each child so no one will feel left out if they did not bring in what they needed.

The pencils, scissors, erasers, and glue are the main items we use on a daily basis and are always in short supply.

The folders will be used for guided reading. Each child will have a folder that has independent work.

The craft keeper is for task cards. Task cards are used on a daily basis and this craft keeper is a perfect way to organize them.

The laminating pouches I use and buy often. I use these to laminate all learning activities such as task cards, puzzles and games.
