This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten students are eager, energetic, and enthusiastic learners. My class is primarily composed of second language learners who love math, singing, art, reading, writing, learning about robotics, and experimenting with science. We have so much to learn and love in Kindergarten!

All of the students in my class have many different learning modalities and one thing that unifies them is that they LOVE being creative through distant learning.

We love to use hands-on materials art materials to add creativity to any academic subject.

My Project

Using these art projects will have long lasting results in remembering a main topic or core subject. Teaching transitional kindergarten and Kindergarten for 4 years, I want my students to have an art book (Blank Book)to use for drawing and writing an opinion about topics like their favorite character. What better way than to create their own character for a story if they have the face and people cutouts already for them.

We will paint inspirational words on the tote bags for Growth Mindset which will reinforce Leadership and Positiveness which we highly focus on at our school.

Placing items in the bag that we can share with our friends while we are distant learning will promote language for our English Language Learners. Colorful construction paper will be used throughout the year when we are learning about Math, Science, Holidays and Cultural Awareness projects.

Using the incentive charts will help promote accountability to both my students and parents. We need the students to become responsible leaders at an early age. Tracking their Reading, Classwork Assignments and Math will be easier to track with these charts.
