My students need the STEM Bundle to develop their skills in science. They need opportunities to use their hands to build things. These kits will assist them in developing their critical thinking skills, and problem-solving skills.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am currently teaching a small group classroom for a K-1 grade and this is a multi-age classroom at a Title I school, in the state of NM. I am a SPED teacher that services students with learning disabilities in reading, writing, math, social/emotional and behavior. My students are behind in their abilities and are struggling with their studies at their young ages of 5-7. My students are eager to learn and need more tools to help them be successful in the General Education Classroom and their grade level curriculum.
My Project
The STEM Bundle will assist my students in developing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. All children need time to build projects with their hands and during this process, they begin to problem solve when issues come up during this process. They will have opportunities to look at their creations and make improvements on them. Allowing small children to develop these skills is vital for them especially in science. The hands-on activities will help them engage in higher level topics and will increase their engagement in these activities for a deeper understanding of the topics that they will be studying for years.
