My Project

I work in a school with students who need supplies often and many of whom come from high-poverty areas. I have bought and received many items for my classroom, but often they need to be replenished throughout the year. I do not have the supplies to help my students be successful often by March. Some of these needed supplies are pencils, markers, colored pencils, paper, and dry-erase markers.

My students are kind, caring, helpful, and creative when given the supplies and chance to be.

I am hoping to get this project funded to bring my students everything they need and more to be successful, happy, and healthy. They often struggle to focus due to not having breakfast or being hungry during the day. Students can not learn until their needs are met. These snacks and granola bars will give them the boost they need to get through the day and learn their best.

Students will use the supplies to create artwork to supplement standards. We have a black history month project next month. Students use the dry-erase supplies for daily math small groups. They use the earbuds to listen to videos at their level explain the content and get help for my ESL students. They use the carpet to meet in small groups. They love their library books and use bookmarks to help them save their pages when reading and keep the books nice. They need the peppermints for testing to help them focus. I need the pencil sharpener because we do not have one on our wall. Our school has a paper limit rule and I often don't have enough paper to print what I need.
