Starry Starry Night

Help me give my students stage lighting and a Starry Starry Night backdrop which can be used for prom, theater and music productions, fashion merchandising, art shows and various other performances and productions throughout the year.

My Students

We are a culturally diverse, rural high school. Our students are the pride of our school system. Students compete on all levels from local to national through athletics, FFA, FBLA, and BETA club activities. As a high school media specialist, I serve the entire 9th- through the 12th-grade student population.

We have high expectations for our students, and we want them to leave high school fully prepared for whatever they have chosen, whether it be college, vocational, or straight into a career field.

This is our vision for our school: "Inspired to be the best through compassion, pride for our community, and passion for success!”

My Project

We have made the decision to bring the Prom back to our school cafeteria after years of alternate venues. The hope is to be able to bring down the cost so tickets can be more affordable to our students. My students are planning a glamorous night which will totally transform the room into a red carpet, black tie event they will remember in a setting which in no way resembles their school cafeteria. The addition of these stage lights and a Starry Starry Night backdrop will bring our event from ordinary to extraordinary with lighting and special effects.

We actually are creating an investment in our school because all these materials will be stored and reused for future events including proms and banquets.

They also will be used by our fine arts department for musical and theater performances as well as highlighting special art works. My students have worked very hard this year to raise the money necessary for all the decor. Please help us to bring event lighting and a special backdrop to this special event (and future events)!
