Starlab: Bring the Solar System to Life

The Academy of Sciences in San Francisco can actually turn our school's auditorium into a planetarium! The Starlab Planetarium is an igloo-shaped inflatable dome that will bring the universe to our fifth graders. The Academy will set up the dome, and one class at a time will gaze up at the starts while a docent gives a presentation. At Lakeshore Elementary School, we share one science textbook for every three students. Teachers work hard to bring the science curriculum to life, but we have limited resources. The Starlab will help turn our kids on to science and become scientists themselves. Our school is fantastically diverse, with students from many countries and all walks of life. We hope to inspire everyone to love learning and reach their potential. Please help us to reach for the stars!
