Starbooks Seating – Cozy Corners for Curious Minds

My Project

My Students

I teach 7th-grade English Language Arts at Renaissance Middle School in South Fulton, Georgia.

My students are vibrant, curious, and full of potential, but many of them struggle to see reading and writing as enjoyable, meaningful experiences. I want to change that by transforming our classroom into an inviting, Starbucks-inspired literacy lounge called Starbooks.

Our students thrive when learning feels relevant and engaging. Creating a space that reflects their world—a space that is stylish, comfortable, and inspiring—will help them fall in love with books and build confidence in their writing.

My Project

This project will directly impact student engagement, motivation, and academic performance. A cozy, café-style classroom encourages collaboration and focus, helping students take ownership of their learning.

I’m asking for flexible seating like mini sofas, lounge chairs, bean bags, and ottomans to give students the freedom to choose how they engage with text. I’d also love rugs, curtains, and warm lighting to create a cozy café atmosphere. Matching bookshelves and a curated collection of diverse, engaging books will help draw students into reading for pleasure.
