It's amazing how something so simple can have such a positive impact on our daily routines and learning environment.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting our students and helping us create a more structured and efficient classroom. Our Mindfulness room has provided a space for students to engage with one another in a non traditional classroom setting. It seems as if the Mindfulness room takes them out of the normal everyday behavior and calms their minds. Our Helen Ruffin Bowl students use the room on a daily to practice for their event. The students stated the room gives them a quiet space to collaborate and brainstorm.\r\n\r\nOur Mentor group uses the room on weekly basis also. The students stated the room gives them a comfortable vibe where they can be themselves. We have also impacted teachers to use the room when testing students who may have missed a test or even when having a group meeting for the grade level. Everyone states the room makes them feel like they are not even in a school building.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the room they were amazed and wanted to know immediately what is this room for. Once they found it it was a room for them to have peace throughout the day, they were excited. Our next steps for the room is to keep adding different stations to have more interactive stations for the students to participate in. We would also like to track the data of our difficult students and see how using the room has improved their behaivor.","fullyFundedDate":1729189986021,"projectUrl":"project/mindfulness-makerspace-through-self-regu/8529064/","projectTitle":"Mindfulness Makerspace Through Self Regulation","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Milligan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4546423_orig.jpg?crop=693,693,x632,y539&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722363705129","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/benqueshya-milligan"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_93988","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":977,"numTeachers":77,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":87,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"12.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":51.7,"schoolId":93988,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Renaissance Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Renaissance Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/fulton-county-school-district/renaissance-middle-school/93988"}
