My Project
Hello, I am a third grade teacher and I teach an assortment of students with complex needs at my school. The school is an inclusive environment, and in order for my students to be successful in the general education classroom, they require unique supports and tools such as fidgets, rocking chairs, and standing desks.
Standing desks are important because they allow students to stay engaged in the classroom environment for longer periods of time without the need for a break.
These standing desks will allow my students to have their own designated place in the classroom, giving them access to a larger area of movement so they can remain comfortable. I have seen the negative effect that a standard desk can have on my students, leading them to put their head down and disengage from the classroom entirely. These standing desks will have positive effects on students' ability to focus, participate in classroom discussions, and their overall attitude towards learning.
If this project is funded, these resources will be used to support a variety of unique learners. Thank you for reading and for all of your support in meeting this goal!
