This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our Title I school is full of wonderful students that come from all walks of life. Many of them participate in the free and reduced breakfast and lunch program. Even though we have students that have a difficult time bringing the basic supplies to school, they come to school ready and eager to learn.
Our students enter the doors of our colorful school knowing that the staff is prepared to help them reach their potential of being college and career ready.
My Project
My students love the standing desk tops that we currently have. They are perfect to raise their Chromebooks up to about eye level so they can complete their assignments while standing up. We only have 6, so we would like to add more so more students can stand and work. Some of my students like to use them while sitting on the floor.
My students are able to stand and stretch their legs while they are working on their Chromebooks.
These standing desk tops are perfect for alternative seating. They are also perfect for those students that like to sit and lay on the floor. I find that when they have choices on where to sit and complete work, they are pretty focused and engaged.
