Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are ones who define the word resiliency. They live in low socioeconomic communities, which results in limited access to resources; however this does not have a negative effect on their abilities intellectually, socially, or inter-personally.
We take all of the bad and turn it into good.
The challenges my students face on a daily basis give them a unique view of the world. We overcome these challenges together, at least for the moment, through our classrooms ability to work as one community.
My Project
Virtual teaching has brought on new challenges, including getting used to sitting while teaching to my students instead of running laps around the classroom to help students. This new adjustment has caused great pain to my back while sitting at a desk all day in order to teach over the web. I try to be as energetic as possible, but my home classroom has its limitations so, Im in serious need of a standing desk. This will greatly help make my work environment more comfortable so I can be a better teacher to them!
