My Project

We are seeking funding to provide adjustable standing desks for our transition-level students with disabilities. These students are in a critical stage of preparing for adult life, and many face physical, cognitive, or sensory challenges that make traditional classroom seating uncomfortable or limiting. Standing desks will offer a more dynamic and supportive learning environment—allowing students to move more freely, self-regulate, and engage more fully in vocational training, life skills instruction, and academic learning. For students with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, or physical impairments, the option to stand can significantly improve attention, stamina, and overall classroom participation.

Your support will help us equip our transition classrooms with standing desks that reflect the diverse needs and goals of our students.

These desks will promote greater independence and self-advocacy as students learn to manage their comfort and productivity—skills that are essential in the workplace and postsecondary settings. By creating a more inclusive and flexible environment, we are preparing students for a successful, self-directed adult life.
