This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There are many benefits to using standing desks in a special education classroom. Standing while working will let students be more alert and not zone out while sitting for long periods of time.

A standing desk will serve numerous students in the classroom, improve executive and sensory functioning, and ensure learning.

It has been proven that movement/standing helps student’s brains to function. Standing allows for increased blood flow to the brain which helps to improve moods and energy levels.

Students who cannot keep still and routinely ask to stand will have the opportunity to use this desk throughout the day. With the use of a standing desk, students who need it will be able to stand and move, while not disrupting others, and remain engaged, focused, and ready to learn.
