it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We're rolling up our sleeves and building a museum!
My fifth graders live in a working class and immigrant neighborhood.
Some of them are learning English as a second language, some have special needs, some are gifted, and all of them love to learn. Our Title I school is an important safe haven for my kids who are surrounded by poverty and gang activity.
My Project
If you walked into our classroom, you would see kids everywhere, discussing, planning, and creating art and science installations. We are building a museum within a classroom in our school, and every six weeks we will rotate the exhibitions. We need work space to put together our installations, and a standing desk would be a perfect platform. With the height of a standing desk, my students will be able to work together as they assemble the parts of their growing museum. They will be able to put together tri-fold charts or sculpt models while enjoying the ergonomics of a high, flat surface. In addition to the standing desk, we are also asking for a small rug. Museum teams will be able to plan and create comfortably on the rug. My kids thrive when they brainstorm together!
With your generous donation, my students will stand up for art and sit down for science.
They will cherish every moment on the rug and every minute at the standing desk as they build the museum of their dreams. My students and I thank you!
