My students attend a school that is moving in the direction of a 21st century classroom. Technology is a big part of our day in addition to flexible seating. My students are collaborative learners who love to change seats to work with different peers daily! They feel comfortable working with anyone on any day as our classroom community is strong.
The way my students can get together in group projects, put their minds together, delegate roles, and be creative is truly amazing.
They are creative thinkers who think outside the box and pose challenging questions. As the school year is coming to an end, I cannot wait to meet my next group of students soon to see how they collaborate with one another!
My Project
These stools and tables will provide my students with the opportunity to choose their best spot for learning. Our school is moving to being a complete 21st century classroom, which is partly in place with rolling desks. My students voiced their opinions on how they feel more comfortable working at surfaces of varied levels. Our classroom has plenty of "standard" level desks, but we are lacking in options for standing/tall desk and corresponding stools.
My students eagerly enter class early in hopes of being able to work at a tall surface, but their options are limited.
Some can find a tall desk with a corresponding tall stool, while others find a tall desk accompanied with a standard sized chair. This is no way a comfortable option for these students to work; therefore, I'm excited to soon have high stools that assist with comfort and productivity of work.
