This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have the wonderful opportunity every day to dance and express themselves through movement. They even have several chances to perform and compete. However, in order to have them feel and look professional, they need unifying makeup to help them stand out on stage.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds; there are a variety of ethnic (Hispanic, White, and Asian), socioeconomic (lower to upper middle class), and dance experiences (1 to 10 years of training).
Yet they are all able to come together at a Performing Arts middle school and become one dance team.
My Project
My students will be able to have their own individual kit that they can use to apply their own makeup for performances and competitions. This will help give them independence and responsibility. Having the same materials will provide my dance team with unity and professionalism.
Donations to this project will help give my students the confidence they need to perform their best.
When they are confident and feel unified as a team, they will hopefully perform and compete better.
