This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are unique and diverse in every way imaginable. Ninety nine percent of the students at our school qualify for free or reduced price lunch and live in poverty. What I love most about my students is how they are always looking for the positive in every situation. When my students come to my classroom, they know they are safe and surrounded by people who love and care for them.

Every day they come to school with a smile on their face and eager to learn.

They truly have hearts of gold.

My Project

Students love technology! Luckily at our school, all students have access to an iPad. Students use their iPads for practicing math, publishing writing, and adding to their online learning portfolios on Class Dojo. All of the students' current iPad cases have stands; however, over half of them have sadly been broken off through the last few years.

Students are constantly trying to find a way to prop their iPads up using book bins, books, their neighbors' iPad, the wall, and many other inconvenient ways.

That being said, I have included mini stands in this project so students are able to stand their iPads up while they are working on math problems or publishing their latest writing. With these handy and small iPad stands, I will be able to provide students with an easier and more effective method for propping their iPads up so that they can use their hands and multi-task while completing education tasks on their iPads.

I have also included expo markers and erasers to replace all of our dried out markers and torn up erasers that students use daily on their mini whiteboards. There is also whiteboard cleaner so students can start their work on a sparkling clean slate every day!
