This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In our low-income/high poverty school district where 100% of the students qualify for free lunch, my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. To combat the many challenges they face, I am determined to provide and expose them to the technology and skills they need to succeed in the 21st century. They are curious, eager to learn, and desperate to please anyone who takes an interest! My students don't have technology at home so I'm looking to provide it in our classroom for them to experience. Keeping them engaged and learning new ways to incorporate technology is a goal.
My Project
Please help me add a standing desk to my first-grade classroom! A standing desk will keep their minds focused and engaged. Standing while working can positively affect their physical health as well.
Giving students the option of working at a standing desk will help reduce restlessness, fidgeting, and improve focus.
The standing desk will easily move around the room to allow students to move closer to a certain area or work in a more quiet space of our room. The desk would be great for partner work as well! It would allow flexibility and social distancing if needed.
