My Students

My students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch.

They are mini-inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet.

They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and teachers. They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long successful, educational career. Many of my students do not have the resources to extend their learning at home.

At school, my students are excited about the simple things, like using a freshly sharpened pencil or spending a few extra minutes in the classroom library.

I have a class of 25 second grade students. My students are learning and growing every day. I want to help inspire them in any way I can.

My Project

We are requesting stamps and ink pads, post-its, pencil grippers, and fine line markers. We are working on spelling and writing in our classroom.

Using word sorts and a variety of activities we will try to grow as writers and readers.

Markers will be used for rainbow writing and pyramid writing. Stamps and ink pads will be used for spelling our words after we sort them. Post-its and pencil grippers will be used to ensure proper grip on pencils and to write our words on bumpy sheets. We love our center activities and enjoy the variety that these materials will provide. If we can become more familiar with our words and their spelling patterns, we will become better readers as well as writers.
