This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love how curious, passionate, and thoughtful my students are—especially when they’re given the space to ask hard questions and explore real-world issues. They care deeply about fairness, identity, and justice, and they’re eager to understand the world around them.
The books in this project will give them the tools to do just that; from the Track Series by Jason Reynolds to the different versions of Stamped, these texts will help students of all reading levels learn about racism, antiracism, and Black history in ways that are age-appropriate, honest, and engaging.
The graphic history and remix editions break down complex ideas, while the fiction series builds empathy through powerful storytelling.
These resources will help create a classroom library where all students can see themselves reflected, challenged, and empowered.
