This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students are eager to learn and grow with enriching remote learning experiences . My class includes students with special needs from identifications such as autism spectrum disorder, specific learning disabilities and other cognitive and health conditions. Some are from immigrant families and are facing several language and socioeconomic challenges. Their challenges impact their access to an education.
Due to remote learning, students have limited exposure to tangible learning resources to provide meaningful engagement and connections.
They look forward to a creative curriculum that will enhance their learning.
My Project
My students with special needs have a variety of needs and strengths. They love to write and draw and want to increase their activities. The stamps and stencils will help meet our physical and cognitive needs as we learn to express ourselves. Students with physical limitations often struggle with traditional writing tools, and stamps will provide the support they need to write.
The stamps, stencils and the pegboard will help strengthen our hand-eye coordination and connection to the world around us.
We can easily share these supplies during our remote learning and continue to use them when we will return to in-person learning.
