Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am so lucky to work with my students with multiple disabilities. My students have diverse backgrounds and needs, and we still come together everyday as a classroom family with individualized support and celebrations for small victories.
We laugh everyday, we learn everyday and we live by our daily affirmation, "I am smart, I am capable, and I am loved." My students are currently unable to write their names.
I wanted to find an alternative way for them to take ownership of their work and I was excited to find personalized name stamps. Each student will have a different color ink so that they can visually see which item is theirs and a stamp is more accessible for my students that other writing tools. These stamps are durable and students will be able to take them with them when they leave my classroom to continue to use in the future!
