Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With stamp carving tools, students will be able to carve their own stamp designs while learning about positive and negative space and how to create a stamp for textile design. Students will use their own designs to create a stamp and transfer the stamp designs onto fabric for a textile design or take their stamp with them for future use on stationery or customizing other work.

These tools will be used for at least three Fashion Design classes next year and potentially a Design Seminar class when we discuss positive and negative space.

The tools can be used each year to impart design skills, help students discover career paths, and encourage them to learn new hobbies for social and emotional well-being.

My students love trying new things. Each year I come up with a new project to engage students more and help make learning fun. My students get excited to do hands on projects that help them release stress and learn new skills.
