Help me give my students Math Stackers to discover: counting, number recognition, 1-1 correspondence, comparing and ordering, subitizing and spatial reasoning all through work and play.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a low-income/high poverty school district where the students are constantly faced with challenges. We have a 100% rate for free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast. My students are creative, loving, and full of energy while having a thirst for knowledge.
My students love to learn and be engaged while being challenged and applying critical-thinking skills.
I have a great group of 25 students. Of those 25, I have two ELL learners. In our classroom, we do our best to look after and help each other.
My Project
What child doesn't love to build castles and forts using blocks? Well Math Stackers is a way that children can use blocks for play but also allows them the ability to see numbers and math in a whole new way. Math Stackers are blocks with numbers on them! They can be used for many different activities and help immerse the students with number.
Math Stackers can be used to help visualize addition up to 10, subitizing, and many other math related activities.
These Math Stackers are a way for students who need a visual of numbers and how they can be combined and compare to each other; as well as allowing them to have fun!
