Stability Disks Around The Classroom!

My students need Bouncy Bands and stability disk cushions for their chairs and desks.

My Students

My students are active and inquisitive third grade students who work hard and are motivated to do well. We are an urban elementary school. More than half of our families are identified as low income and almost half of our students are second language learners.

The classroom is a busy place!

Children are working independently and in small groups all over the classroom. The children need opportunities for movement at all times during the school day.

They love to learn! We are an inclusion classroom with special education students and students with autism. The curriculum is rigorous. Bouncy bands and stability disks help the children to focus and concentrate. The students deserve every opportunity to do their best and feel good about themselves!

My Project

The students are required to do so much in the classroom! They are young and need opportunities for movement. Bouncy Bands allow the students to move while being seated. This helps all the students, and is especially beneficial to the the students that have ADHD and/or sensory processing issues.

These items helps many of the children to remain focused on instruction.

The stability cushions are double sided. They have a smooth side and a "bumpy" side. These cushions fit on the students chair. They can be moved as the students move around the room. For example, if a student is working with a group on the rug, they can take the cushion with them! There is a lot of research to show these items help students to focus and concentrate.

I purchased one stability cushion and one bouncy band last year. They absolutely changed the learning environment for so many of my students. Only two students could use them everyday. After seeing the positive impact these items made, I want all the students who could benefit from them to have them!!!
