Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very diverse with many of them coming from economically disadvantaged homes. Over 80 percent of them receive free or reduced-price lunch and face various barriers to achieving academic success. They come from homes where food is scarce and where there is not enough money to pay for life's essentials such as clothing, utilities, and school supplies.
My students are fun, energetic, creative and they have a love for learning.
They love opportunities for group engagement and engaging projects. My students come to school every day ready to learn exciting things and to have the opportunity to make a difference. They are the true meaning to my "Why".
My Project
The requested snacks/gift certificates will undoubtedly help to motivate my students as they strive for success. As the barriers arise especially throughout these unprecedented times, it is often hard for students to focus and stay motivated. Studies have shown that students thrive when they know someone cares and acknowledge their achievements.
An award system was created to promote and highlight students' success while learning.
As the students meet and exceed expectations rewards will be given to keep them motivated. Incentives will also be utilized to reward students who have intervention plans for the following barriers: academic, social, or behavior. My students are our future and I look forward to helping and supporting them as they snack to their way to success.
