it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are full of creativity, kindness, and a passion for learning. They come to class eager to explore new ideas, and we want to nurture that enthusiasm by creating an environment that feels safe and welcoming. The Squishmallows will provide a sense of comfort and relaxation, helping students stay calm and focused during lessons. When they feel at ease, they’re able to engage more deeply with their work and think critically. As Maya Angelou once said, *“People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”* A comfortable classroom can have a lasting impact on how students approach their learning.
Right now, an alarming 80% of students report feeling anxious in school, which can negatively affect their ability to focus.
By providing these comforting resources, we aim to create a space where our students can learn without the weight of stress. Our students are resilient, empathetic, and dedicated—and with your help, we can give them the support they need to thrive both academically and emotionally.
